About us

silla was born out of a passion for beautiful objects: special pieces with aesthetic and historical significance. In 2009, after years of collecting, Andrew Silla and his wife Grace began to work privately with clients from their residence in Southern Maryland. Quickly outgrowing the space, the business was moved from Maryland to Pennsylvania in 2012 and after several warehouse location changes it was firmly settled in the present brick-and-mortar location in downtown Shippensburg.

The 9000 square foot brick-and-mortar gallery is home to a large collection of works of art and estate jewelry. We specialize in sculpture circa 1860 through 1930 with a particular emphasis on the Animaliers and as such the gallery always has a very large collection of exceptional European and American sculpture available on display.

Antique Furniture

Welcome to our gallery!
Established in 2009, silla has long been an important destination for 19th century sculpture and outstanding furniture of all periods. Owned by Andrew and Grace Silla and operated together with their small staff in the historic downtown of Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, our 9,000 square foot gallery is open by appointment to view our wide-ranging inventory of sculpture, furniture, fine paintings and objects of art.

Every object is selected with great care, researched in detail to ensure an exacting authenticity in our assessment and catalog text, photographed in exhaustive detail and thoughtfully packed in-house for safe delivery.

While almost every item in the gallery is owned by the gallery, we see ourselves only as stewards of these objects, caretakers for a brief moment along a continuum that hopefully extends for centuries into the future. This is a role we take very seriously and great consideration is taken to guarantee a flawless receipt of your new acquisition.

Your purchase is accompanied by full paperwork including a descriptive sales invoice, a photograph of the work and the catalogue text so that you can be a proper caretaker for the next leg of the journey.

We look forward to hearing from you as you discover that special piece!
