DUTCH BAROQUE REVIVAL CHEST OF DRAWERS
Circa 19th century
Item # 209PFT16A
A very attractive Dutch chest of drawers in the Baroque taste, it is a product of the 19th century with early and probably original cast brasses. All surfaces have a wonderful reddish hue and a lovely all-over glow from years of waxing and polishing. The facade is a delightful and rather complex scalloped form with a undulating top that conforms to the facade of the chest on the front and carries that same design around the sides. The skirting on the front projects the same waves and curves both outward and downward. The drawers move easily in and out of the case and it remains as practical and useful today as it was when it was originally made.
