EMPIRE STYLE MAHOGANY, BRONZE AND GREEN MARBLE PEDESTAL
Circa early 20th century
stock ref. 407RPL10P
An attractive pedestal from the first quarter of the 20th century, the circular green marble top is surrounded by a cove-molded solid mahogany frame over a reeded bronze rim. It is raised on four solid mahogany tapered legs stretched with a single shelf at the center, each standing on cast-bronze animal paws on the mahogany veneered base raised over bun feet. A very nice decorative pedestal capable of supporting substantial weight while presenting with an airy and transparent profile that emphasizes the sculpture nicely.
Measurements: 49 3/4" H x 17 1/2" diameter (approximate)
Condition Report:
Some trace scars, abrading and surface history throughout; specks of white paint visible here and there on close inspection; small chip loss to edge around marble top; some veneer patching/splicing. Sturdy, strong in all joints.
