PAIR OF MODERNIST BRASS, CHROME AND GLASS END TABLES
In the manner of Maison Jansen, circa 1970s | unmarked
Item # 407ZGO11P
Gorgeous, austere, modernist... this very attractive pair of side tables absolutely pop. A design very much in the taste of Maison Jansen (and often attributed to his firm and their designers), they feature a remarkably high quality build throughout. While hollow tubular steel (with a wonderful chromed surface) have been utilized in the X-stretchers, the upper portion of the frames surrounding the glass are beautifully machined out of solid steel and solid brass. The hollow steel legs are placed over interior iron posts that give unusual strength and weight to the tables. These allow the solid machined brass turned sabots to firmly affix to the table legs by screwing into the interior wrought iron posts directly. A fabulously attractive pair.
Measurements: 15 5/8" H x 20 1/8" W x 20 1/8" D
Condition Report:
Photos showing the corners before glass tops were replaced - there are chips in the corners in the images, but the glass tops are now brand new and present flawlessly. Carefully disassembled and every element polished and reconditioned while maintaining any underlying surface history. A very fine presentation.
