PAIR OF VINTAGE ITALIAN 18K GOLD, TOURMALINE, SAPPHIRE AND DIAMOND EARRINGS
Designed and crafted by Roberto Legnazzi, Italy circa 1980s
Item # C104256
A very attractive pair of solid 18k yellow gold earrings designed and crafted by the jewelry atelier of Roberto Legnazzi in the 1980s, they are set with a wonderful translucent pink tourmaline cabochon at the tip with a clear surface that allows light to pass through and reveal to the eye all of the natural fissures and inclusions of the stone. Roberto Legnazzi was one of the master enamelers for David Webb and produced some of the magnificent work that firm issued under their name.
Each earring has a set of three channel-set emerald-cut sapphires flanking a single bezel-set carre-cut diamond below a single round cabochon gemstone. With a beautiful curvature and reeded profile, the bright-polish of the gold glows against the gemstones. The reverse is an omega-clip with post and features the hallmarks for Legnazzi's registration in Allesandria, Italy [* 1932 AL] and the gold purity assay marks. A very fine pair with a hint of exotic flair that makes for a special night out.
