About us

silla was born out of a passion for beautiful objects: special pieces with aesthetic and historical significance. In 2009, after years of collecting, Andrew Silla and his wife Grace began to work privately with clients from their residence in Southern Maryland. Quickly outgrowing the space, the business was moved from Maryland to Pennsylvania in 2012 and after several warehouse location changes it was firmly settled in the present brick-and-mortar location in downtown Shippensburg.

The 9000 square foot brick-and-mortar gallery is home to a large collection of works of art and estate jewelry. We specialize in sculpture circa 1860 through 1930 with a particular emphasis on the Animaliers and as such the gallery always has a very large collection of exceptional European and American sculpture available on display.

SET OF TWELVE UPHOLSTERED CHROME "CESCA" DINING CHAIRS
Designed by Marcel Breuer for Stendig | circa late 20th century | Stendig labels and cambric to undersides
Item # 406PPF26Z

A great set of twelve cantilevered chrome "Cesca" B32 dining chairs designed by Marcel Breuer and distributed by Stendig, New York. They should be reupholstered (most chairs with blemishes to the upholstery, one more significantly stained), but all remain very comfortable and plush. Incredibly comfortable. They retain the original Stendig branded cambric fabric to the underside and are finished in a luxurious chrome plating that remains vibrant and bright throughout.

Measurements: 31 1/2" H x 17 1/2" H to seat; 22" D x 18 1/4" W

Condition Report:
Staining, wear and blemish to the velour of several chairs - most are still serviceable, but one is more heavily stained. They should be reupholstered. Chrome overall in quite good condition, some scuffing, few spots of pitting and chroming loss, but overall in good condition - hand polished in-house: images of specific flaws can be sent upon request. Sturdy and comfortable.
